The Boy Who Never Lost Hope ‘The Infant Years’ is a raw and unflinching look at the infant years of a Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) survivor with an Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) score of 10.
The Boy Who Never Lost Hope 'The Infant Years'
Traumatised in utero and born into poverty, with PTSD symptoms from birth; with a heroin-addicted, prison-cell-hopping father who committed unspeakable acts of domestic violence; a mother who suffered from significant mental health challenges stemming from her own history of abuse; and previously trusted family members who would continue the cycle of extreme abuse in a ‘Cinderella effect’.
Oftentimes, the very children lacking a voice and who fall through the cracks in society time and time again.
Against all the odds, this is one boy’s story of never losing hope of finding a better tomorrow for himself, despite being dealt the poorest of hands in life.
Ricki is ‘The Boy Who Never Lost Hope’.
From birth to the end of infant school at age 7, this is Ricki’s journey into what shaped him into the man he is today and why his unique perspective on the trauma system and trauma recovery is so vital to hear.
